Our friend, Guy, was first diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2007. After rounds of chemo and brief remission, he was rediagnosed in 2008. At that time had a stem cell transplant using his own stem cells. He was then in remission until 2016, when his hero of a brother, donated his stem cells for a transplant. From that transplant, he has been diagnosed with GVHD (Graft Versus Host Disease). This diagnoses is what is currently causing the most pain and trouble.
Guy is no longer able to work, and is quickly falling behind on his bills and keeping up with his daily/monthly expenses. He is currently undergoing chemo to fight the cancer, as well as other treatments to manage the GVHD. One of the major effects of GVHD is chronic dry eyes, which brings many other obsitables in getting through his day. He's continually needing relief, and is spending $50/week on eye drops.
There is a possibility of another transplant in the future. The details around that are currently being assessed.
The financial aspect of this is getting real. Medical bills and daily expenses are adding up. (Medical bills alone are currently at $15,000.) The money raised will go toward paying off accumulated bills, ongoing and new medical expenses, Aida's childcare and other daily expenses, and travel expenses (to doctor appointments and treatments).
Our plea is that you not only contribute what you can, every dollar helps, but also, that you keep Guy, his beautiful daughter, Aida, and the rest of his family in your thoughts and prayers as he continues fighting. He is tired, but he's not even close to giving up!
