Gracelyn Hope's Hope for Healing

My granddaughter, Gracelyn Hope Oaks, was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor after presentation to the local emergency department for assessment of headaches that were unresponsive to treatment prescribed for an ear infection, sinusitis, and bronchitis. By pathology, her tumor was determined to be a rare and aggressive type. I've included a link to information about her type of tumor.

Gracelyn is 7 years old and our only granddaughter out of 5 grandchildren. She is a much loved child who faces a protracted aggressive treatment that will include 6 weeks of radiation followed by up to 6 to 9 months of chemotherapy. Her treatment will be performed at East TN Children's Hospital in Knoxville, TN which is an one and one half hour drive from our hometown, Kingsport, TN.

I am asking for donations to assist with covering the many out of pocket costs our family will incur in the next several months that won't be covered by insurance. Unfortunately, families in the US too often face bankruptcy, loss of employment, and loss of homes when faced with catastrophic illness like Gracelyn's. My goal is to alleviate some of the financial burden and worry for my son as he tries to care for our beloved girl and her two brothers, and maintain his home and employment.
