My name is Jonathan Sansom and I am the Senior Pastor of Gateway City Church in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Recently I read an article in an Icelandic magazine that disclosed the fact that 0.00% of those 25 years and younger in Iceland no longer claim a faith in God (http://icelandmag.visir.is/article/00-icelanders-25-years-or-younger-believe-god-created-world-new-poll-reveals ). This is the first Western nation that has seen a generation void of any true knowledge of Jesus Christ and the gospel. It was upon reading this article that my heart was stirred beyond comfort and compelled to embrace the mission of going to this small North Atlantic country to share the good news of Jesus Christ and see the church reborn.
This is the most unconventional mission trip I will have ever taken, and it will be met with many challenges. First of which is that there are no currently no evangelical presence there, so I am tasked with staying in hostels and supplying all financial requirements for this trip. It is my plan to visit the four (4) regions of Iceland (West, South, East and North) in the eastern and northern regions I will most likely stay in local residences that open to travelers and here take the opportunity to serve and minister to them. I am planning to travel in the winter months of 2017. This presents additional challenges as winters tend to be very harsh there, but it is also the time when you are most likely to find locals gathered indoors and not scattered throughout the beautiful terrain of this small country. The stated amount will supplement the need for travel to and from Iceland, room and board for the entire stay (3 weeks), food and transportation while there. We will need the total sum by November of 2016.

Accommodations: Reykjavík 235.00, Hvolsvöllur 200.00, Egilsstaðir 200.00 (Ormurinn Guest House), Akureyri 136.00, Ísafjörður 400.00 (Gentle Space.Is) Total: $1,300.00
Vehicle Rental: 2,500.00 includes all insurances (Blue Car Rental IS)
Food: $1,700.00 ($75.00 a day)
Total: $6,450.00
