As some of you know, Connor Goldberg has been diagnosed with a condition called Chiari Malformation. Connor has a fluid filled cyst on his spinal cord, a Syringomyelia. Typically when discovered they are a couple of inches long. His cyst goes from top to bottom of the spinal cord. This condition has caused him symptoms such as; headaches, backaches, loss of reflexes and problems with balance and coordination.
He will undergo brain surgery tomorrow, May 10th. During this surgery they will remove the bone at the back of the skull and spine. A patch is sewn in to expand the space giving the brain more room for the fluid.
He will be hospitalized 4-5 days and then on restriction for a few weeks causing him to miss school and be inactive. They expect he will live a life without restrictions when this is over!
There will be future MRI's, CAT scans and therapy so I am hoping to assist in raising funds to help eliminate some of the financial burden to the family. Please help with whatever you can and if you are unable to do anything financially, please pray for the surgeon's knowledge and steady hands as well as quick and complete healing of Connor's body.
