Move Mountains For Avery
My husband and I had our healthy baby girl Etoile in Jan. 2008. After 5years we were overjoyed when I got pregnant again. It was a difficult pregnancy so I could not even work. On October 24th 2013, after 12 long hours of labor our beautiful Avery was born. Soon after she was rushed into the NICU for low blood sugar, breathing issues, and Jaundice where she stayed for 2weeks.
Avery missed many important developmental milestones as she was growing up, which was noticed by her Pediatrician who referred us to Children’s National in Washington, DC for a variety of testing. After numerous testing Avery was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome on Nov. 12th 2014 by a Genetic Specialist. With Rett Avery is unable to walk, talk, stand, or use her hands purposefully. She also has feeding and digestive issues so will be getting a G-Tube placed soon.
Things have gotten worse for Avery and us. Avery has to be carried everywhere as she can no longer hardly hold any of her own weight, Avery recently received an adaptive stroller to help with this. We are now raising $70,000 through gofundme.com so that we can purchase a handicap van that will fit Avery’s adaptable stroller and allow her to get to her many appointments. She is currently receiving Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies.
We will be very grateful if we could get the handicap Van within a month or two.
