My name is Greg Burt, and as you may know, I have been competing for the past 2 years to make the New England Junior National team. I live in beautiful Huntington, Vermont and I ski for Mansfield Nordic Club and Mount Mansfield Union High School. This year I have qualified for the New England JN team! For the trip to Nationals, they take the top 6 from each age group, and I am the 3rd ranked skier in New England for my age group (under 16).
This means a lot to me, as it is something that I have been working toward for the past couple of seasons. I depart for Cable, Wisconsin on March 4th and come back on the 13th. I have 4 races between those 9 days and hope for a top ten finish. At Junior Nationals each year, 10 regions from around the country compete for individual honor and for the pride of their region to claim the Alaska Cup, awarde to the top team. Overall, the total cost of this trip is $3,100.00, which covers my travel, meals, lodging, coaching and waxing.
