After many years of teaching students in various schools across the city of Philadelphia, two years ago Gina Naseef made her way into my life and the lives of many students at Chester Community Charter School. Since the first time meeting her, I have watched as she has used her endless talents and powers to give her students a classroom that was inviting, thought provoking, and truly magical. I had never before met someone who cared about people like she did, and knew from the very beginning that I was in the presence of someone amazing.
In a short period of time, I've watched Gina fill our school with donations, surprise her students with pizza parties to celebrate their accomplishments, and get an entire school dancing and singing with her morning motivational announcements. When she wanted something better for the kids in our school, she did whatever it took to get it. In just 2 years, Gina Naseef has changed and greatly impacted not only her students, but our entire school community. She has put smiles on hundreds of faces throughout her career and now it is our time to put one on hers!
Gina never thought that this was going to be the year that brought her the most challenge. In September, she welcomed new students into her room and quickly realized that God had a different plan for her in 2016. Though Gina would love to be in her classroom, she has been at home fearlessly fighting her newest battle, cancer.
With needing the rest of the school year off, various medical procedures, and now the future need of chemotheraphy and radiation it is my goal; to make Gina's financial needs one that we as a community help her fulfill.
I have watched one woman change a community, and now I am hoping that one community can change this very important woman's life.
Gina has a mission in life; spread positivity and show all students that they matter. Let's show Ms. Naseef how much she matters to us! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
