Gena's Cancer Fund

My wonderful giving sister received the worst news of her life last week.  While at work she wasn't feeling  well and had been having some headaches and tiredness, but getting up everyday and getting on two city buses to get to work.  On that day, her supervisor said to her maybe you should go get checked at the ER, since the headaches were not going away.  After X-ray, CT scan, and MRI, and numerous tests, she was diagnosed with Non-small cell lung cancer that had metastasized to her brain.  Upper left lung is 90 percent cancerous and approx. 20 cancerous tumors in her brain.  Her doctors are starting whole brain radiation tomorrow, for ten days then chemotherapy to start after radiation treatments.  Her doctors are hoping treatments will help to shrink tumors and then be tolerable and live longer.  Money is needed to help pay for expensive medical costs, deductibles, drugs, special food, living expenses (rent, electric, water).  She has never asked anyone for anything before, she is a single woman and it has always taken everything she's earned to survive on her own and was hard to have a savings.  Her spirit is beautiful and deserves to have more time with us, she has one son, which she is so proud of, a Army paratrooper for five years, now home safe which we are so grateful.  In desperation this fund was created, so thank you for everything.... much love to all...
