David G and Marc VW Medical Fund
$55,304 of $50k goal
On January 12, 2017, two beloved musicians, David Garibaldi and Marc Van Wageningen were struck by an Amtrak train in Oakland Califonrnia in front of Yoshi's jazz club before their show with Tower of Power.
Less than 24 hours has passed, Marc is currently in ICU in a medically induced coma after surgery to remove his spleen and other injuries, and David is awaiting medical prognosis of the broken bones and facial fractures he sustained. This is a life altering event for both of these iconic artists. They are truly lucky to be alive.
Major, MAJOR medical bills await both musicians with costs that will surely be astronomic. This is going to be a LONG medical journey back. Insurance or not, this is the kind of thing that can derail families, and careers. Let's all come to together to help lighten the financial impact as much as possible and give our fellow artists support when unforeseeable tragedy strikes.
WE ALL LOVE THESE MUSICIANS AND TOWER OF POWER! If everyone gave a dime for every time we've enjoyed or practiced to Tower of Power's music, we'd have helluva lot of dimes. Think about what truly priceless gifts they have given us and let's all give generously.
100 percent of all donations will go to Marc and Dave. 100 percent!
The Groove Conspiracy is making our January 17 show at Yoshis a benefit concert. A percentage of all proceeds collected will go directly to this fund.
This warms my heart so much that people come together to help. Some can only get five dollars but they're giving it . Others can give more. It gives me hope for humanity. Bless all giving hearts. We are all one. ❤️❤️ My prayers continue for these amazing artist and their families, brothers and sisters.
Tommy, I know you weren't alone in the effort to make this happen, but it takes a leader to start the ball toward getting things done. You are to be commended for your efforts, and most of all, for the love you share for these guys. Allowing all of us to bring our love, prayers, and monetary support is truly rewarding for you, but it also was a privilege for all of us to help. We continue to pray for DG and Marc's total recovery.
