We would like to upgrade our paper award certificates to award plaques and need your help to achieve this goal!
The band students at Gahr High School have come a long way in one short year. For the first time in six years, our marching band competed in field show competitions, went undefeated in Division 3A for the SCJA (Southern California Judges Association) circuit, and took 1st place at California State Band Championships. For the first time in seven years, our color guard competed in Winter Guard competitions were promoted from division RAA to RAAA during their season and ended taking 4th place in Regional AAA division at WGASC (Winter Guard Association of Southern California) Championships. For the first time in 14 years, the drumline marched in Winter Drumline competitions, were promoted to Division A during their season and ended taking 6th place overall at ADLA (American Drum Line Association) Finals. For the first time, the Gahr High School Concert Band participated in SCSBOA (Southern California Band and Orchestra Association) Festival and received a Unanimous Superior rating at the festival.
Such great achievements deserve recognition, but with the recent reemergence of the Gahr High School Instrumental Music Program, we do not have the funds built into the budget to properly recognize the students for their exellence and their achievements.
