George Washington & Me Feature Film

We Invite you to Join Us on Our Epic Mission to develop a Family Friendly, Historical Drama that follows 8-year-old Elijah and his Brave Adventures as he follows his father, a soldier, during the Revolutionary War at the Battle of Monmouth!

To stay on track with our film production schedule, we are here to raise $25,000 before the end of August to complete the development stage and take us into Preproduction!

"An impossible adventure begins when a young boy sneaks out of George Washington’s encampment to find his father, a soldier who does not return from the Battle of Monmouth. Will the game of draughts (checkers) save the young boy’s life and get him home?"

The underlying message of our film is universal. Everyone wants to be free from tyranny. Freedoms for a safe place to call home with family and friends. There is something for everyone in the story to relate to.

How will your contribution help the film production? Your contribution will keep the film development on schedule to include the completion of the Final Shoot Script before November 1, 2018, by Award Winning Screenwriter Robert Child! Then we go into Preproduction Mode!

Why an Independent Film? With successful and professional film crew and top talented actors, we want our film to be seen and enjoyed by everyone, not just limited screenings. As an Independent Film, we hold the freedoms to develop and distribute our film without the restrictions of a major studio or bloated "Hollywood" budget.

We are working towards a 21-day film shoot late spring 2019, and a film release fall 2019!

Produced by Andrea M Clarke , Producer, Writer and Creative Director, 1663 Media Arts, LLC, and Cherry Lane Creative , a production company.  Andrea holds a deep belief in everyone’s right to be free and live happily and in peace within their (healthy) communities without fear of reprisals. She  is a Daughter of the American Revolution and a descendant of early settlers of Rhode Island. Dr. John Clarke, her “uncle” was a founder of Newport and Author of the RI Royal Charter of 1663.

Robert Child , Screenwriter and Director. Rob is an Emmy® nominated writer, director and author with Penguin Random House (The Lost Eleven). With a keen interest and background in historical projects, he has directed films all over the world including; Canada, UK, France and Belgium. Child has garnered more than 25 writing and directing awards and is one of only a handful of directors whose work has screened in the Congress of the United States.

Story written by Michael Dooling  - Well known for his dramatic and historically accurate illustrations, Michael Dooling is the illustrator of over sixty-five books and the author of five including Young Thomas Edison, that School Library Journal said, “Belongs in every library.” The Great Horseless Carriage Race and George Washington’s Army and Me, both written and illustrated by Michael, are in development for major "Hollywood" Motion Pictures. Horn Book praised his work as “noteworthy—and handsome—examples of the illustrator as historian.”
