Building GTP's New Theater Space

Who are we?
We are a theater organization for theater artists of any age, based in Charlottesville, Virginia.
We are a non-Profit, 501(c)(3) organization.
We are performers, designers, educators, students, leaders who all strive to foster individual & community accountability with vision and intent ina laboratory for the humanities. In fact, that's our mission.
Theater does what film cannot for the actor and the audience - live in the moment and discover as artist and viewer. GTP's actor-based approach develops accountability, work ethic, and innovation alongside self-expression and creative vision, whether a youth or adult thespian, opening the eyes of the audience and the actor simultaneously.
In the last twelve months alone we have put up shows ranging from Bram Stoker's Dracula, to Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice to Naomi Iizuka's Polaroid Stories. Our teen and kid troupes talents range from A Little Princess to Waiting For Godot.
Our five-year-old theater had a massive growth spurt in the 2015-2016 Season and now it's time for new pants. We've found those new pants in the form of a brand new space--still on Allied Street--but this one is on the ground floor, has massively high ceilings, and is even closer to Carpe Donut.
Now comes the hard part. We have to turn it into a theater. We need to build a loft, a green room, rent storage space while we're still moving, establish a wi-fi connection, paint the walls, stock the bathroom with toilet paper. The list goes on. That's where we need your help. To cover those needs we need to reach our goal of $5,000 by September 1st.
Once we achieve our goal not only will we be able to create the facilities in which we can continue to make the incredible art that you have come to expect of us, but we will be able to grow as well.
