GTGH London: Style With Ethics

Short Summary

GTGH Stands for Geek That Got Hot

GTGH London is a premium fashion label for 21st century women.
Our mission is to promote a fashionable brand of women's wear while providing a range of services for women and girls who are suffering from impact of abuse, lack of opportunity and bullying. So far, we are creating a range of services in the UK. But as we grow, we plan to expand to all corners of the world proving that fashion is ethical.

Young women across the world are under immense pressure to look and think a certain way; a way that encourages adolescent bullying to those who fit outside the box.
In the UK, one in 20 children (4.8%) have experienced contact sexual abuse and over 90% of children who experienced sexual abuse, were abused by someone they know, according to the NSPCC.
Many of these victims end up becoming the "Geeks" who are often subjected to taunting, grooming gangs and even suicide. As someone passionate about defeating child abuse and creating entrepreneurial schemes for victims; I am seeking to redefine "Geek" while creating a socially and environmentally responsible product with the potential for a truly global impact.

GTGH London is set apart in the Fashion market by its attention to style, sustainability and ethics. All of our dresses are made by an incredible team of young women who source high quality fabrics and pay attention to detail to ensure our dresses are worth their price.

Our first season is complete with 10 gorgeous styles

What We Need & What You Get

So what can you do to make our dream and mission a reality? GTGH London needs at total funding of £18,000; your donations will go towards helping us build our inventory, executing our marketing plans and transforming the Fashion industry into an body-conscious and socially responsible haven.

 BREAK DOWN

£10,000 - Goes towards the creation, packaging and shipment of the first season of GTGH London dresses. As we are sourcing high end fabrics and using an incredible team of skilled dress makers, we have to pay a premium cost to ensure we are not exploiting child labour. We are creating unique methods to package our dresses to ensure we are worlds away from other brands. We currently do not have any amazing photographs to show you as we have samples but without the funds, we have no models or photographers to shoot the project.

£3,500 - Goes towards the GTGH London Foundation, which will provide a range of entrepreneurial and counselling services for women. We plan on hosting a weekly group session where women can come and talk, engage in activities and learn various skills to improve their lives. We believe that it is not enough to just hear success stories from our "Geek" ambassadors, we believe it matters that every woman is given the opportunity to become the person she deserves to be.

£3,500 - Promotional materials. We need to work with high end photographers, Web developers, GTGH Brand ambassadors, Makeup artists and stylists. We want a brand that will become a household name within the next decade and this will come at a cost, the great news is; the team has already been assembled and are working at an extremely discounted rate to support the cause. We know this is a lot of money but believe that it is an essential part of the journey.

£1,000 - Press and promotions. We are giving an upcoming PR company the opportunity to market and advertise our brand. Following our theme of "Girl Power", we are dedicated to having our potential costumers become our main voice.

Every donation matters and gets us closer to reaching our goal. Whether you can donate £5 or £500, we need your support.

The Impact

Completion - We will launch this brand! We have worked so hard and staked all of our personal resources on this in order to make an incredible line for women that also makes an impact on the lives of victims of abuse and those in need of a second chance. We have secured 30% of our Brands's budget in pre-committed finishing funds which will be released once the team begin quality assurance. Your support will not only help the team complete production, but take us an important step closer to unlocking those finishing funds!

Marketing – Each part of a brands’s development is essential, but marketing is the most crucial part to any brand. All the money, blood, sweat, and tears that go into making a project are for naught if we cannot get the brands out to you, our target audience, to purchase. We plan to secure a pathway to distribution which will allow that dream to become a reality and get the brand out into the buying public in as wide of a distribution model as possible. We also plan on hosting pre-release parties at venues around the city, bringing the label back into the spiritual home it was born in. Your help in this campaign will go a long way in securing that future and getting this label seen!

Making a difference - GTGH London is a prism through which we can see many of the social and economic problems women face. We hope that by spotlighting the positive role of Fashion in our ever-changing world, we will encourage a conversation around disenfranchisement and access to opportunities.
