Get Grenada Swimming

Donation protected

The earth is 70% water.  But did you know that the third leading cause of preventable deaths in the world is drowning?  In Grenada, a small island country off the Venezuelan coast, it is estimated that 95% of inhabitants do not know how to swim.

Get Grenada Swimming (GGS) is a program whose goal it is to teach 8,000 children to swim in the next 5 years. It does this in three ways: free Saturday swim lessons, National Learn to Swim Week, and an after school swim program.

$1000 is what it takes to run a Saturday morning site for free swim lessons for an entire year.  There are currently four running right now, and GGS's goal is to reach 12 sites over the next five years.

This summer, Ellen Ingwerson and I will be volunteering as swim instructors for this program.  We greatly appreciate any donation you can make - all proceeds will go toward GGS!
