Because of the major impact of Hurricane Michael on Panama City and surrounding areas, the Gulf Coast Children's Advocacy Center is in desperate need of funds in order to continue providing valuable services to the community.
The GCCAC protects and enhances the quality of life for victims of sexual violence and child abuse in our community by providing a trauma sensitive, specialized approach to assess, identify, treat and prevent sexual assault and child abuse through the coordination of community resources.
Many GCCAC staff members have lost their homes and everything they own. Despite losing everything, the staff have still been working tirelessly to locate current clients and continue services for children in the community.
It will take $15 - $20,000 to maintain staff in temporary housing. FEMA is placing folks from Pensacola and further and therefore staff would not be able to continuing working - this is a cost that the GCCAC will need to absorb. The insurance deductible is between $60 - $65,000 for 8 affected buildings.
The GCCAC is in desperate need to be able to continue to provide the much needed services to the children of Bay, Gulf, Washington, Jackson and Calhoun Counties.
