Help GBEN become a nonprofit

Hello! We are the Greater Boston Evaluation Network (GBEN) and we are raising funds for the application fees to establish GBEN as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The GBEN is a collective of evaluators and other professionals doing evaluation-related work in and around the Greater Boston, Massachusetts, region. We are an official local affiliate of the American Evaluation Association. We have over 280 contacts who represent disciplines including K-12 Education, Public Health, Social and Economic Policy, and Government and Public Sector Services. We are a strong mix of non-profit professionals, internal and external evaluators, self-employed evaluation consultants, researchers, and university students. Our contacts have experience ranging from “just getting started” to over 20 years in the field!
By becoming an official non-profit, this will grant us the ability to collect dues to provide more services to our members. Additionally, it will give us more opportunities to partner with other non-profits, as well as gain access to spaces and resources that are reserved for organizations that hold non-profit status. Most of all, non-profit status will allow us to build infrastructure that will help to create sustainability for GBEN for many years to come.
We are hoping to file for non-profit status by the end of March.
All funds raised will be used for lawyers and filing fees with the federal and state governments. Anything raised that is not used for filing fees will be applied to other GBEN expenses, such as website maintenance and food for roundtables and socials .
