Fiji Eye Project Uniting Church

The Fiji Eye Project provides eye care for disadvantaged people in regional areas of the country. Once a year a team of medical professionals volunteer their time to travel to Fiji and perform a series of surgeries to restore the eye sight of locals.

A simple operation allows patients to pursue education, work and independence.

In Fiji a large portion of the population is unable to afford proper medical care. A case of cataracts, a condition easily treated in Australia, can mean a life of blindness and destitution.

The Fiji eye project is a partnership between the St Clair and Wesley uniting churches in Sydney and the Wesley Methodist church in Laotoka, Fiji who work together to organise the program. The congregations of St Clair’s and Wesley provide the bulk of the funding to continue this crucial work but donations are always needed.

Funds are used to supply, transport and store medial equipment, hire space for the operations and to provide transport for the surgical team.

Please donate to help children and adults alike to look forward to a brighter future.
