Philly Falcons LGBT Refugee Program

The Philadelphia Falcons Soccer Club promotes diversity in all forms and we are starting our LGBT Refugee program, in partnership with the William Way Community Center and HIAS PA, to offer a safe space for LGBT refugees to become members of our club and participate in our leagues and events free of charge.   We recognize that LGBT refugees face many challenges when resettling in our community, but they will help it to thrive through their unique experiences and talents.   We want to welcome them to our Falcons family if they love soccer too, or if they simply want to get some exercise.  We aim to be a positive social outlet for all our members and hope you will consider donating what you can to help us reach our goal.

The money we raise will be used to supply our program participants with free Falcons membership for one year, participation in our intra-Club seasonal leagues at no cost, free participation in our annual Liberty Bell Classic tournament and club dinner after the tournament, and extra funds for transportation and/or participation in a city-wide league with a Falcons team.  The funds we raise will be restricted to this program, and not used for other Falcons activities or events.  In the event that we have money left over after one year, we will use it for sustaining the program over the next fiscal year or donate it back to our partner organizations.

Our club  stands for inclusive-driven soccer.  We are a group of soccer players of all skill levels and orientations that come together for the love of the game.  The goal of our club is to provide an environment where friendships, fitness, fair play, and fun flourish.  Started in 1989, the club is co-ed, primarily gay and lesbian, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  We have had over 500 members and continue to be at the forefront of inclusivity within the soccer community. We have teams in many leagues across Philadelphia and still travel nationally to tournaments.
