Eun Ju Scholarship & Memorial Darwin

Donation protected
Dear friends, colleagues and family of Eun Ju Kim-Baker, As most of you know, my little sister, Eun Ju, committed suicide on 28 September in Perth.  Eun Ju had achieved so much already, was a fierce advocate of human rights / social justice and was deeply involved in the queer community. The love, sadness and support from colleagues, friends and family has been overwhelming and there are not enough thanks in the world I can give. As we continue the healing process, we will say goodbye to Eun Ju in Canberra (10 November), Darwin (17 November) and Melbourne (22 November) through gatherings of friends, colleagues and family.   To assist the organisers of these events (most of them being university students with limited income), we have started crowd funding pages.  Any leftover funding will go toward a scholarship at the Australian National University (ANU) where Eun Ju studied.  The scholarship will be aimed toward students who face issues such as discrimination and mental illness, as Eun Ju did. We are in communication with ANU about setting up a formal scholarship once funds have been collected and DaHye, Eun Ju’s sister, will update contributors regarding its progress. Please know that we do not mind if you tell others, don’t be afraid to start the conversation about mental illness. Finally, to everyone, I beg you to ask for help if you need it.  Don’t pretend to be okay when you are not. xo
