Help Emmanuel To DataScience Dreams

Hi Friends, I'd like to introduce you to Emmanuel, some of you already know that smile. Some of you have supported him. He excelled in a social enterprise course in Colorado and now he's setting his sights on his next education endeavor: studying Data Science at Galvanize, a cutting-edge, immersive program.
This course we're fundraising for starts on February 5th! In just one week! (More details on the course below).
In 2008 Emmanuel’s mother got sick. A doctor prescribed medicine, but it didn’t seem to help. Eventually they realized the medicine she was taking was fake. To this day, his mother has suffered from further complications. This is a huge problem in DR Congo’s (where Emmanuel is from) medical system. Emmanuel wants to study Data Science to help hospital systems in DR Congo fight against problems like counterfeit medicine.
I met Emmanuel on a documentary project in 2006 in DR Congo. He was 12. He impressed our team so much- kind, intelligent, fun, and speaking English, French, Swahili. He translated for us sometimes when we went to the market. He used the tips we gave him to buy a watch so he could be on time. We played cards and he called the king of hearts the "K of Love" :) He taught us a dance move I still attempt today. A life long friendship was formed. Now he's 23 pursuing Data Science. This $1,100 will pay for Emmanuel to take a pre-program course (before he enrolls) called "Data Science Fundamentals," where he'll learn how to use Python (the top programming languagege used by data scientists) and be better prepared to learn data science. This pre-program course will help him get accepted into the Data Science program. Also, this money will be credited to his tuition when he gets accepted.
Emmanuel has worked incredibly hard towards this goal, and he's already begun studying Python.
As I mentioned, this Data Science Fundamentals course starts on February 5th, in one week! We are hoping to raise this amount by then. (There’s another April 2nd, but that would be a big delay, we’re hoping for Feb 5th).
The full Data Science Program tuition is $16,000, but he’s already qualified for $5,150 in scholarships and credits if accepted, so his tuition will be $10,850.
If we are able to raise an amount over $1,100, it will go towards his $10,850 tuition. We will seek out student loan financing for whatever remains.
