This is Eli. He is a very energetic 11 month old boy. He loves running around, spending time outside, playing instruments, reading, dancing, and giving sloppy wet kisses. His grandma is his nanny so they get to spend all day together during the week. You would think he has everything. Happiness and love.
However, he was born into a transatlantic family. Only his mother, Kimberly's side of the family lives in the US. His dad, Rich's side of the family lives in England. Eli has spent many weekends Skyping with his Granny who lives in Watford and "talking" with her.
A week ago Eli's parents, Kimberly and Rich, received the heart wrenching news that Granny was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer. Not only that but that the disease has metastasized to her lymph nodes, indicating a Level III stage.
In all his life Eli has never once met her in person, never been able to embrace or kiss her. For Christmas he wants nothing more than to give his Granny a hug and kiss and finally meet her in person. Unfortunately his parents are both public school teachers and cannot afford this trip alone. Granny is in ill health and Kimberly and Rich worry that Eli will miss out on the chance to meet her if they wait until next summer.
If Eli gets funded through this campaign, he will be able to travel to England with his parents, get a hotel near Granny, and rent transportation to make the most of every minute he can spend with Granny. His family will also have a little extra money to help make some memories.
Since this may be his only opportunity to spend time with Granny in person this trip would absolutely mean the world to Eli. As he gets older he will be able to look back on memories that will be made as a family, even if only through the photo album and know that she was a very special woman to him.
Eli would like to also make this trip a surprise for his daddy, Rich. If you know Rich please don't say anything to him so as not to ruin the surprise.

If enough funds are raised we will be using them to make a trip to England (Watford) to visit my mother in law and to allow her the chance to meet her only grandchild. The funds will be used for airline tickets, hotel, car rental, and food. We appreciate any help!
