Medical Funds

Many of you know Ed and Theresa Stokely ....they are father, mother, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, grandpa, grandma or amazing friend to all of us. Ed and Theresa are always willing to help and listen when you are in need. This time they are in need of our help! 

Many of you may know that Ed had suffered a stroke awhile ago. Over the past couple months there have been signs of possible mini-strokes. The doctors set up appointments to check and evaluate him. Ed continued to progressively get worse. He took a couple of turns that the doctors said not to worry about it and they would get to the bottom of it at the next appointment. 

Saturday evening Theresa found Ed on the bedroom floor unresponsive and not able to get up. She called an ambulance that took them to St. Mary's in Grand Rapids. They did a CAT scan/ testing and found that Ed had a  malignant brain tumor the size of a tennis ball. After overnight monitoring they realized that he was suffering from multiple seizures caused by this massive tumor. Sunday ended up being emergency surgery to remove as much of the tumor possible to relieve the pressure in hopes of eliminating the seizures. 

He is currently in Mary Free Bed for rehabilitation to relearn the day to day tasks. The rehab will take some time before Ed can come home. The treatment will continue once they get an action plan from the neurologist and oncologist. Theresa has been by his side everyday driving back and forth, and staying all day.
