The team is home with their families, we're all doing our best to get back to "normal" life activities, and we're all pondering the awesome, summer, baseball experience we just shared. We are very proud of our boys, and we are humbled and grateful for the outpouring of support from our friends and family all over the world.
And while money cannot buy this experience, it can absolutely help cover the operating expenses! Because of the generosity of 374 people, and 100s of others who were part of donation groups, we dramatically exceeded our fund raising goals. Most of our families will exceed the $10k operating expense estimate, and many will come close to $20K! The funds you have donated will help these people put a dent in those bills.
You'll undoubtedly see the boys in places like Mariners' and Seahawks' games, local/Sammamish activities and online, and when you do, please continue to know that we are humbled and proud to have represented our community, state, and region in the greatest Little League event in the world! Go, Eastlake!
The boys had a great night' sleep after the win over Iowa. They spent this morning on the set of ESPN as guests on SportsCenter. Afterwards, they did what has become so common...signed autographs and took pictures with adoring fans.
Day off yesterday for the boys, and they watched a lot of great baseball. Their friends from the Eastlake team in California (representing the West) beat the team from Michigan behind an extra-innings, no-hitter from P Grant Holman.
Because of the incredible generosity of 100s of people from all over the country, we have nearly reached our last goal of $25,000! Our kids and parents wondered if we would ever come close to reaching that number, so we are amazed and humbled by your incredible support! Because we have reached our last goal, and because many of you have suggested that we raise the goal to better reflect the real costs of 13 families spending 35 nights away from home + buying last-minute airfare to PA, we are increasing our goal to $45,000. These funds will enable families who otherwise would be unable to make the trip because of the expenses they have already incurred to make the trip and watch their sons compete as one of the 16 best Little League teams in the world! Please continue to accept our humble appreciation of your contributions. Thank you, all.
The boys had a great, first day in Williamsport! They received new uniforms, equipment (yes, equipment), customized hitting/throwing/fielding analysis, and took a swim! A truly amazing experience for kids, coaches and parents. THANK YOU to everyone who has donated in the last 24 hours; your contributions will enable people to make this trip.
Congratulations to our boys for winning the NW Regional Championship! They're off to Williamsport, PA in about two hours as one of the 8 best teams in the US, and one of the 16 best in the world! Huge thanks to all our friends and family around the country for all your support! It means the world to the boys and to the parents!
After the boys' 6th inning, come-back win Tuesday, they play a tough Idaho team today for a chance to compete in the Regional Championship Saturday. Thanks for your continued financial and emotional support!
Please Help the Northwest Regional Champion Eastlake Little League Team Offset Expenses for the Little League World Series. Eastlake Little League is located in Sammamish, Washington. Its 12u All-Star baseball team just won its first game of the Little League World Series by defeating Texas 8-4! The boys play again Sunday against a good team from Connecticut. The reality is that as the boys continue to play, their parents continue to spend lots of money to support them. We believe the average family will spend a minimum of $3000- $5000 during the state, regional and World Series tournaments. And while all the parents realize that covering expenses related to a baseball game is not the same as covering the costs of medical care or education, they still have the unplanned burden of $1000s in expenses if they wish to watch their kids play. Please consider donating a few dollars to support those parents who need it so they can enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Many, many thanks to those of you who have donated so much time and money to support the boys. Their parents feel an overwhelming sense of community pride and support and we all thank you very much.
Important Note: You are not donating to the Eastlake Little League organization. Your donations will not be tax deductible. They will not be managed by the non-profit Eastlake Little League organization which sponsors our team. They will be managed directly by the parents of the team to offset their expenses.
