Support Eaton Community Hospice

Donation protected
Eaton Community Palliative Care has been, and continues to be, a blessing and support to many patients and their families during the final stages of their disease process.  Founded to provide 24 hour, direct care to the terminally ill, ECPC has been able to offer in-patient services to our communities since 2003.  What many may not know is that the direct care/ room and board portion of hospice care is NOT covered by insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid; it is almost always an out of pocket expense for the patient and/or their family.  This financial stress is not something an individual or their support system should have to struggle with during this time as daily rates for in-patient hospice care can average $150-$300+ a day (many facilities require a deposit and even up front payments).

It is our mission to ensure that each individual in our care is able to pass away in a safe, comfortable, peaceful setting.  Our staff is trained and educated to provide the best possible care to everyone who comes through our doors-family members included.

The cost of providing this care can be overwhelming.  To keep our doors open, our houses staffed, and running costs over $2,400.00 a day!! When your main source of income is donations, this can be difficult to meet.  We have generous, phenomenal support and we appreciate everyone who has contributed over the years.  Today,  this is where YOU come in-every donation, no matter how large or small, makes a difference!  Monies donated to us will be used to help cover utilities, staff wages, groceries for the patients, household goods, etc.

I, personally, feel blessed to be an employee at ECPC and I have also been blessed to be a family member.  My dad was a patient in the Kyser Building in 2008.  We were not prepared for the accident he experienced or the need for hospice; however, when we made the decision for my dad to receive comfort care only, ECPC was there.  My dad received the best possible care.  The 11 days we spent at ECPC were some of the hardest days for our family but the knowledge, competency, strength, compassion, and empathy shown to my dad, and our family, brought us immense comfort.  Shortly before my dad's accident he and I had a conversation about what a great service ECPC provided to our community-little did we know that we would be there as a family not long after we talked about this.  Your backing means that ECPC can continue to be here for our communities.

ECPC has been "home" to many as they walk their final journey on this earth.  For some, it has been a miracle as they were homeless, abused, neglected, and without support before they came to us.  For some it allows the family members become family members again, instead of being caregivers.  Our gratitude, the gratitude of our patients and their families, will be immeasurable.  Your financial support will mean that we can continue to provide this care at no charge to our patients and their families!
