EARPS Exotic Animal Rescue and Pet Sanctuary (EARPS, Inc.) is a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue group made up of volunteers working together to improve the quality of life for pocket pets, exotic pets, and non-traditional pets through fostering, adopting, and educating, as well as helping control the pet population through spaying and neutering. EARPS works directly with shelters and other agencies where exotic animals are at risk of euthanasia. And with doing this we tend to rack up some high medical bills helping animals recover from various forms of neglect and mistreatment. We are searching for some kind individuals to help us to be able to be able to pay off a substantial vet bill and save up for future animals in need.

SUCCESS STORIES MADE POSSIBLE BY EARPS!

Meet Kronk, he was one of many hamsters rescued in a raid of a pet store in early April of 2013. The store was being shut down due to the neglect of the animals being kept there. EARPS found foster homes for all of the small animals they rescued from the store and placed many into loving forever homes. Kronk came into his foster home scared and confused, but through time, some extra lovins’, and proper vet care Kronk blossomed into a happy, healthy hamster. Beyond being an incredibly sweet hamster Kronk was also quite shy. His favorite place to be was in his house sleeping, but when that couldn't happen he enjoyed a tissue box while his foster parents watched television. To assist us in helping more animals like Kronk please share his story and donate!

Snow and Hiccup are two of the newest animals in our rescue. They were both surrendered with serious surgeries on the horizon.

Snow was brought to us in the midst of a dangerous pregnancy. The baby chinchilla did not survive, but after two expensive surgeries, Snow is getting stronger every day. She is still in need of daily care and hand-feeding, and she has brought high vet bills along with her.

Hiccup was surrendered when an expensive surgery was needed. He had to have an eye removed and now needs regular care.

Funds raised will go towards the veterinary bills and expenses to care for sick and injured animals like Hiccup and Snow.

One of our volunteers met a Good Samaritan downtown Indy this evening. He contacted us after he saw a domestic rat hanging around the dumpster. He later found an animal cage in the dumpster as well. When our volunteer got there, it was not only downtown, it was a filthy back ally. At the dumpster, the rat was spotted almost immediately. Our volunteer went under the guard rail and knelt by the chain link fence where the rat was. It took a couple attempts for the rat to find a whole in the fence big enough for her and her golf ball sized mammary mass to fit through but when she did, she walked right up to our volunteer, climbed her arm and perched on her shoulder. Once in the car, this very skinny little girl started grooming and bruxing. She has labored breathing due to a severe upper respiratory infection in addition to being very underweight and having a mammary mass that probably accounts for a third of her weight. She is going to need veterinary care and lots of TLC. THIS is why we are are asking all of you for help. THIS is why we rescue. We want to help the animals that have been thrown away and treated like trash. Please help us do just that. Donate today.
