Dylan’s Heart Surgery

Dylan was born in 2005 with a congenital heart defect, Aortic Stenosis. His surgeries began at 2 months old, first with a balloon catheter to his aortic valve, followed by a “Ross Procedure” to replace the defective valve at 18 months. This replacement valve was predicted to last around 10 years. Dylan is now 13 and the time has come to yet again replace that valve (or “change his batteries” as he puts it). 
Dylan and his mom, Laura, will be traveling to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, approximately 5 hours away, for the surgery on Nov 8th with the surgery scheduled for the 13th. Laura will be having to take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month off of work to be with and care for Dylan, depending on his recovery and release.  
Now, Dylans surgery is covered by insurance, but being a single mom the hit of that much time off of work is going to be a strain on the family and that is a stress that I am hoping to alleviate with this campaign.  All donations will go to Laura and Dylan to help cover their bills and any unforeseen circumstances during their time in Gainesville.
