UPDATE 2/18/2019 About 1 year post transplant
On February 13, 2019 Dosch was hospitalized for pneumonia in both her lungs and has since been transported to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City where her transplant team can care for her. As of today the doctors are treating her for pneumonia and possible rejection. She is completely sedated and on full respiratory ventilation, dialysis, and a myriad of other IV's for her medication. The doctors are not giving any clear indication of how they think things will progress. We were given a small glimmer of hope when last night she had a small improvement responding to her steroid treatment. I wish I could give you more information but this is all we know for now. I will continue to update this as things become more clear to us.
We are truly grateful to all our family and friends who continue to send their well wishes and healing thoughts.

WHEN IT ALL BEGAN...WRITTEN IN 2014
My beautiful 18 year old niece, Dosch, has Cystic Fibrosis. She lives at home with her parents and 3 younger siblings. She has come to a point in her tender life where she now needs a lung transplant and has begun the process of getting on the lung transplant waiting list. This process involves numerous trips to and from Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City...a 302 mile trip (one way) from her home in Canandaigua, New York. She will also need to reserve an airline ticket for when she gets the 'call' to come for the operation...and she needs to get there within 4 hours of getting the call because time is so critical in order for these transplants to be successful. This is an enormous task and will be very demanding in every aspect of her and her family's life. No body can do this alone. The last thing she or her family needs to worry about is having the means to make all this possible. I'm asking all my friends and family to please open your hearts to Dosch Rundt and her amazing family. Please help to minimize their burdens the most we can so they can focus on what is truly important...getting Dosch Rundt where she needs to be to get the best medical attention she desperately needs. Thank you.
