My name is Dianne O. Brown, I am a 25 year old Professional Model and Small Business Owner from the Caribbean Island of Jamaica.
I was recently selected by the Miss Grand International organization to be the first Jamaican delegate to compete in the 2016 staging of the Thailand based Beauty Pageant.
Miss Grand International (MGI) is an annual international beauty contest that started in 2013. The organizers search the globe for beautiful, well rounded women to compete, not only for a crown but the opportunity to run the pageant's ‘Stop the War and Violence’ campaign promoting peace, love and unity worldwide.
Being selected as an independent representative (Miss Grand Jamaica ) means I will act as my own National Director and Franchise holder.
I am responsible for covering my Registration Fee, Round-Trip Airfares, Visa expenses, Wardrobe, Marketing, Promotion and cost of necessary Training. All this is in addition to ensuring I am mentally and physically ready for competition.
I'm a fanatic for anything that involves a stage and an audience, so Im extremely excited to be given this amazing platform to represent my country on an international stage and speak out on an issue like War and Violence that affects us so significantly. This is an opportunity that I intend to use to make a difference.
Though I’m not wealthy, over the years, I have been blessed with a wealth of love and support from my family and friends. I know that with hard work and commitment, anything we truly believe in is possible.
That said, expenses associated with competing in such a contest are significantly more than I can finance on my own. It will not be possible to take home the crown and build Brand Jamaica without your help and support.
My goal is raise $10,000US to fully cover the costs of competing in Miss Grand International 2016.
