Training 4Derek's Autism ServiceDog

As most of you know my son Derek is severley Autistic, non-verbal and has epilepsy. Our lives have been a roller coaster to put it lightly for the last five years. Every day is a new adventure but I love my tour guide more than life itself.
One of my daily fears is Derek tends to wander. My house is guarded like Fort Knox and this little boy still figures out every gate, lock and gadget I have to keep him safe.
He is lightening fast and somedays the multiple sclerosis slows me down a bit when my wonder woman legs need to chase him.
We have been blessed to have Maya becoming part of our family. An incredible woman Patty Dobbs Gross has agreed to come train Maya to to assist Derek is his daily needs and to track him so no matter where he hides or wanders to, I can say "get Derek" and off she will go.

Nothing about autism is a small expense. And if you  know my stubborn self I never ask for help no matter how burnt out I get. But with this, this is the greatest gift Derek and I can ask for to protect him. Any little bit can help.
There aren't enough words to express my love for this little boy. If you have met him, you know he melts your heart in seconds.
