Hi Everyone,
Earlier this month our Mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She is our biggest cheerleader, our number one fan, our favorite cook, our rock, and as you can imagine, this news has been unbelievably hard on our family.
Her doctors are doing everything they can to provide her with the best care and truly believe she can beat this. They have a plan to get rid of the cancerous mass with three months of chemotherapy treatment, to shrink it, followed by surgery and another three months of chemotherapy.
We are blessed to have our Dad who will continue to work to be be able to provide her with the best possible health care insurance by being a Kaiser employee, but unfortunately she will not be working with what looks like about a year or so depending on her health and financial help will be NEEDED.
As a result, I (Merylin her oldest daughter) have decided to do something I historically have never been good at asking for myself, but for my parents I would do anything and everything I can. So I have decided to ask for help for them. It was recommended for me to start a go-fund me account in the hopes of being able to off-set and keep up with the costs associated with their bills while she will be out from work.
As someone who has spent her whole life caring for and fighting for everyone else, I have never been so humbled as to have to write such a personal story in hopes of taking some of the stress off of my parents.
