Deepest Monk Project

Donation protected
This project is about supporting an authentic buddhist zen monk from occident to achieve a freedive performance. Ordained monk in 1998 and certified zen master in 2013, Kosho has dedicated his life to practice and service and wish to bring at light the outstanding realisations that exist inside and beyond selfless achievments.

In order to reach his present goals, he will need your help and he is currently asking for it.

During the last 10 years, the monk Kosho has been mostly busy restoring, opening, guarding and managing a beautiful zen temple in the south of France, Yujonyusanji in the mounts of Caroux, as much as raising his daughter Mahatma in the company of his wife Hira Hosen (yes, zen monks do marry). Freed from this task last year, the monk Kosho is now trying to live in the active society life, teaching zen practice and freediving to those interested and willing to discover their depth.

As everyone can imagine, going back to civilisation after 20 years of retreat and studies is not obvious and again, he will need your help in order to achieve his present  goals.

Commited to training and to improve his own depth, Kosho is developping "Deep Zen", a concept which brings you to realise the spiritual liberation, happyness and innerpeace with the harmonised practices of zen and freediving. Having a good reputation and being a fair and gentle person, here is his story.

Thank you for all the support you will bring to him.

"Hi dear readers, thank you for being here :)

Back in 2017, after being certified freedive instructor, i tried to reach a depth of 50m during the RedCcup competition (Dahab, Egypt) and successfully achieved it. Whenever great and famous freedivers said i was now just half way deep, i was tremendously happy and proud of this performance. Not only because i committed to serious training and kept on keeping on, but also because i could show that monks can dive and not only meditate silently in temples, living far from society.

The Deepest Monk Project is for now the most sensitive way i found to harmonise ageless practice of spirituality and meditation with extreme sport and healthy active lifestyle. I sincerely wish my actions in that direction will allow everyone to discover both disciplines. I wish to transmit hope and faith, letting everyone understand that we can practice meditation in a serious way, discover our depth and improve through unconventional, liberating, sensational achievements also, not only by retreating far from the world.

This year, i would love to be able to try to freedive beyond that depth and eventually reach 60m deep. But that won't be just easy...

Training and registering performances has a cost and obviously, like most traditionnal zen monks, i lack finances. Living in the mountains of south of France, i do not have access to deep waters to train and improve, so i must, at a certain point, fly to the appropriate destinations in order to do so.

Even if i can train on dry land and exercise my breathold, i need to be in contact with water to get to the next level... and this is where i need your help.

Since i lately took the decision to leave the temple i use to be in charge of during almost 10 years, i have no more income and you can imagine that reconversion is not this obvious. I live and support my family with really little money and every move i wish to perform becomes easily difficult.

The places where i would choose to train and compete are Amorgos, Greece, and Dahab, Egypt. In both places exists famous freediving competitions: the RedCcup in Egypt and the Authentic Big Blue 2018 in Greece.

I so need your help to pay for flights, accomodation and competition fees. Your participation will obviously bring you rewards, not only karmic, but i really wish to make all my supporters feel happy of their gifts towards this project. You may receive free courses of freediving or meditation, personnal coaching and support, eventually goodies or special mentions on the videos and pictures which will be made about this adventure. Of course if you wish to more specifically sponsor me, i'll be happy to study everything you wish to receive in exchange of your precious support.

I believe in this project, i am ready to do it and have a total faith into the fact that this is good for humanity, future generations and evolution of mankind.

Please support the Deepest Monk Project and be part of an incredible 'never seen before' adventure."

Thank you very much
