Dax's last ear surgery!

Donation protected
Hi everyone! Dax's last ear surgery is scheduled for May 16th.
We are grateful for all the support we've received in the past. And mostly, we're grateful for your positive thoughts, prayers and support. <3

If you haven't heard his story, please keep reading below his picture. :)

Dax was diagnosed with a cholesteatoma in August of 2015 at age 7. It appeared that the tumor had already destroyed all three tiny hearing bones in his left ear. He had surgery in October to have the tumor removed, and we discovered that only 1 of the tiny bones was completely destroyed, the incus. The other two were still mostly functional.
After removing most of the tumor, the doctor placed a prosthetic incus bone behind his eardrum, and we let everything heal. We were anxious to know if, 1: his hearing would be better, worse, or if he would have any at all, and 2: if the tumor had been successfully, completely irradicated.
Dax DID have an improvement in his hearing at first, but the prosthetic incus began to touch/adhere to his eardrum. This causes him some pain as well as immobilizes his eardrum, lowering his ability to hear.
This, hopefully his last, surgery will fix the incus/eardrum situation, as well as let us know if the tumor has been completely irradicated.
The doctor is hopeful that he may only have to go through his eardrum to do all this. We're hopeful too. :)
