Help Jannette stay at Howard

Hi, my name is Jannette Davis. I’m an upcoming sophomore at Howard University, studying Afro-American Studies to hopefully become a teacher and also an student-athlete of Howard’s 1867 basketball club team. 

I'm experiencing financial issues, which is affecting my stay at Howard University. I've applied for numerous of scholarships and loans but unfortunately have not received any scholarships and have been denied every single loan I’ve applied for. I've recieve very to little financial aid from the government, which only covered a fifth of my tution. My tution yearly at Howard University is aprox. 47,000 a year and aprox. 17,000 a semester. My parents made a way to pay for my tution in the fall semester, which they came out of pocket 11,000.  I still have not paid for my spring semester at Howard University and have until August to raise 10,000 dollars. I'm only asking for donations for half of the amount because I'm currently working 2 jobs to help pay for the rest.

The culture and opportunity in Washington, DC is something I don't want to leave behind. I would love to remain a student and continue my education at Howard University because of the willingness to succeed from students around me, the opportunities I’ve been presented and my upcoming goals of becoming a teacher and to continue being a student-athlete. 

I'm reaching out to you because you may be my only resource that will help me continue my education at Howard University.  My financial hardship isn't your worry but I'm asking for donations because your donations may help me stay at Howard University.
