Help David Edwards get back to riding with DHBC
Donation protected
On the 7th April 2019 the DHBC c28s group to Waterfall were riding out bound at Engadine when they were passed in close proximity, by a semi-trailer doing a speed in excess of 60km/hr. This created a displacement of air which pulled some riders towards the truck with such force that one of our group was unable to maintain control of their bike and subsequently crashed. That rider was David Edwards.
David's bike was ridden over by the back wheels of the trailer and while David sustained 8 broken ribs and a broken clavicle he was very very lucky not to have been dragged under along with his bike.
David was not the only rider injured that day but he was unfortunately the most seriously effected both physically and financially. It has now been 7 weeks since the incident took place and the police investigation is ongoing. Regardless of whether the driver is at some point charged, David will remain significantly out of pocket due to the loss of his bike and continuing loss of income.
This campaign is in aid of providing some financial relief to David, in particular to fund a replacement bike and cycling gear which were destroyed beyond repair. Ultimately it is to help David get back to cycling once he has fully recovered from his physical injuries, and back to doing what he had become so passionate about - getting active, keeping fit and riding with his DHBC club mates.
Any contribution you can make to help make that happen would be humbly appreciated by David and his family.
