Dave Melvin's fight against cancer

Dave has been diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. He has been fighting this disease for a while, and the doctors have convinced him it's time to ask for help. He has already gone through some chemo. He said he was taking one medication, but it stopped working. His white blood count at one point was over 1 million!! He is currently taking medication that seems to be helping, but his doctors have told him that this isn't a small cancer; he won't heal from this very easy. This is life threatening! For those of us that have had the fortunate opportunity to know Dave, we know how private he is and for him to ask for help is very hard for him. His doctors say he needs a bone marrow transplant. A family donor isn't a reliable option because there is a chance of a genetic reinfection. Dave has asked that we please register with bethematch.org. Dave's cancer is an extremely rare form of blood cancer. Even if you registered in the past, he pleads that you recommit.  The experimental medication he is on costs over $11,000 and he also has medical bills coming in.   Please help offset his enormous expense of trying to just stay alive!!
