Dan Shroba Jr. Memorial Fund

On Monday, June 29th, our brother, Dan Shroba Jr. passed away suddenly from a heart attack. He left behind a wife and two children.

Our brother  Dan Shroba was a hard working, blue collar, wrench turning,  family man. Dan, Jen, Jake and Shelby are awesome!   Your typical American family until you get to know them, and then they grow on you. For those of you that know me, Dan is one of my life brothers and I am an only child.  If you are one of them you know it.   Dan has been Jake’s  father since the age of 18 months and Shelby’s  father.    My wife Keli is their godmother so you know the deal.

Dan was a hard working small business owner who was the sole provider for his family. He started Shrobz Automotive in 2005. His plan was to work until he was ready to hand over his business to his son Jake after finishing college.

Dan also had many dreams for his 14 year old daughter Shelby. Shelby will be a freshman at Minooka Community High School. Shelby is an honor student, dancer, and a great piano player. Her dream is to go to college to become a speech pathologist.

Our families hope is to help Jake achieve his dream of finishing college and becoming a business owner himself. Our hope for Shelby is to help her through school and through the most difficult years she will face without her father. And our hope for Jen is to give her peace of mind and financial security to help her children achieve their goals and dreams as a single parent.

Over the past 15 years I have known the Shroba’s , one of Dan’s and my favorite missions was to get Keli and Jen together on one of their birthdays a year.   Some years they got to see each other on both and we were rewarded appropriately! LOL!     This year” Lt.  Dan” won the creative prize as he passed away  June 29th and Keli’s Birthday was July 2nd.  He found another way to get them together on one of their birthdays!

Guy was very fortunate to be in Dan’s Party Pals Circle of Friends and now I would like to introduce you to Dan the Family Man!  The family received this post earlier today and please enjoy!

“Rest in Peace Dan. So far all I can see on facebook is what a wild and crazy guy you were. Everything I see are party pics of you. You were much more than that. The Dan I knew was a hard working knuckle busting mechanic that worked every day and took care if his family. You were a hard nosed individual to adults, but a pure pussycat to the kids who loved you. You took a baby boy into your arms and raised him into a fine young man. You brought a beautiful girl into the world and by all appearances is going to be just fine. You and I were not bosom buddies by any means, but you were my son in law for 14 years and I saw a steady hard working man. I felt compelled to write this because I was getting the impression by reading the public posts that you were just a party dude. Not so in my book. Again, Rest In Peace Dan. A GOOD MAN.”

Any donations for this family would mean more than anything and greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much!

We love and miss you Dan!

 Cheers!
