Recovering Dave Bridges in Tibet
$10,450 of $15,000 goal
Our lives turned bittersweet this week. After 17 years, my husband's brother, Dave Bridges, was discovered in the Tibetan Ice.

This means that Dan is going on an epic journey to lay his brother to rest and this includes a whole host of things. Dan will be hiking for over various ranges before he even gets to Shishapangma so they can adjust to the high altitude. Travel to Tibet is not easy. Permits and plane tickets must be bought, the basecamp they have to travel to is at 17,000 feet. This also means that Dan must train for a month in order to take the month long journey just to get to the place where they can recover the body. He will be going into a hyperbarric chamber to try and adjust before hand.
We are asking for your help with the travel costs to get Dan to Tibet in one month. We are emptying our savings but it will take much more than that to lay Dave to rest.
This would be closure for Dave and Alex's family in a way that we did not think would be possible. It means everything to us. Thank you so much for your support in this difficult time.

His parents are having a hard time adjusting to Atlanta. We found out they want to raise our rent 30% so we're moving. And Dan lost all the momentum he had started for a new business venture he had going back before he left. His business partner decided to pull out so we're back to the drawing board. Our pup also has some type of eye infection we're seeing to today.
Some positives that have come out of this are that I have been able to connect with the amazing community around us through a site called Next Door. People have been astoundingly generous!! And we get to thank some of those people tonight with a big dinner. Pictures to follow. We also have reconnected with all of you! We're so happy you guys have come through for us. Thank you again.
I hope to have more pictures of the trip up in the next few days. Thanks!
I'm so happy that Dan is off the mountain. I so admire what he did, what everyone did. I hope someday that this story is made available to the public at large. Many blessings.
I am very glad that my cousin Dan has you in his life Emily :). What a completely unexpected surreal event, ( Extraordinary is kind of a Jaeger thing though) I hope Aunt Patty and Uncle Gene are doing good with this, send my best wishes to them. All of you are on my heart and in my thoughts, Much love Dan O.
