Dallas Convention Website
The Journalism Education Association, the adviser association for scholastic journalism, and The National Scholastic Press Association, the nation’s largest scholastic organization for student journalists, will be holding their fall convention in Dallas Nov. 16-19, 2017.
This is the first national convention held in Dallas in 15 years.
This convention will offer journalism students in North Texas an incredible opportunity to hear from leading media professionals from across the United States.
Local Host Committee.
A local host committee is vested with all aspects of organizing this convention, which will attract more than 5,000 student journalists from across the country.
The local committee is raising funds to provide for travel expenses, hotel accomodations, meals and honorariums for featured speakers, many of whom will come from out of town. We are also raising funds to help cover other costs associated with providing activities for the students and teachers during the convention.
We are seeking donations to help offset these costs — in other words, we need your help.
A free press is at the core of our nation’s freedoms. Please help us support young journalists as they endeavor to educate themselves — to help them become better journalists and, in so doing, become more active and engaged citizens.
Any level of sponsorship would be greatly appreciated.
