Daisy's ER Bills

UPDATED STORY:
Please read through the updates - The original intent of this campaign was to raise funds for the Vet ER to save my Daisy's life...  Initial surgery was a success and she was able to come home a few days later, doing quite well.  Unfortunately, a week after the surgery, she suffered a blood clot or heart attack.  She declined rapidly before my eyes and we rushed her to my Vet with my mom driving and me in the cargo area of her SUV with Daisy.  Her  breathing stopped along the way and I attempted CPR and continued with chest compressions, thinking I could save her.  But I could not.  She was not able to be revived at the Vet and my girl passed away.....   I have replayed that devastating day over and over in my mind.  The horror of watching her take her last breath, the desperation of trying to save her, the utter overwhelming grief of not even being able to continue standing on my own legs as I watched Dr. T frantically search for a pulse and then sadly turn to me with grief in his own eyes and sadly shake his head that she was gone...  Somehow the stress of that week affected my own health and I ended up in the hospital myself the next day with a severe kidney infection.  The resulting Veterinary bills, compounded by me being out of work for several days has completely overwhelmed me financially.  I recently became a single mom, moving myself & my 2 teenagers into a rental home of our own in October of this past year.  I have been working several jobs to keep our heads above water and have  been proud of myself for being so self sufficient.  I just can't seem to get past this setback, however, and am praying that by raising enough to cover this devastating occurrence, I will once again be able to start to get back on my feet financially and keep working towards the brighter future I've been trying to build....

ORIGINAL STORY:
My precious Daisy suddenly became severely bloated and crying in terrible pain late at night on April 3rd.  We rushed her to an emergency Vet and found out that she had Bloat, also known as gastric dilatation and volvulus, or GDV.  The only solution is surgery or euthanasia.  For Daisy, the ONLY solution was surgery, there is no way that I would look into her sweet, loving, "been there for us through everything" eyes and not tell her I would do everything possible to help her.  The vet went ahead with emergency surgery and it was a success, though her spleen and a bit of damaged stomach tissue was removed.  The prognosis after surgery is very good, but she will be in recovery for several days at the hospital.  The bill is climbing, the estimate is around $12k, but could go higher depending on when she can come home.  I am a single mom with 2 teenagers.  I have been working several jobs to keep our rent & bills paid and have been super proud of myself for accomplishing this.  This vet bill, however, is quite a bit more than my budget can handle.  I'm asking for help, hoping that with enough friends/family/colleagues spare coffee change, I can get through this & keep our heads above water.
If you have a few dollars to  spare, perhaps enough people with just a love for pets and an understanding and empathy for our situation, it will make this stressful time a little less daunting.
Thank you....
