Southcoast G.R.I.T.

Dreamfar High School Marathon challenges students to reach their full potential--physically, socially, emotionally, and academically--through a mentor-supported marathon training program. Dreamfar mentors run alongside youth and help them train for and complete the Cox Providence Marathon by providing companionship, motivation, and support.

The Southcoast group currently consists of ORR, Dartmouth, Global Learning Charter School, and City on a Hill (New Bedford).

We offer this program free of charge for all participants.  All we ask is that they come with a positive attitude and a willingness to work.  In fact, we supply everything, from running shoes to shirts and shorts for students that need them.

Unfortunately, these things are not free, which is why we are looking to you for help.  We are hoping to raise at least $10,000 over the course of two years for equiptment, buses, and race entries.  Any donation, no matter how large or small, will help us.

$20 buys a student a water belt
$25 buys a student a team shirt
$40 supplies a water stop with water, Gatorade, and snacks during a long run
$150 buys a student a pair of running shoes
$700 buys the team a buses ($350 each) for one of the 5 runs / races for which we need transportation
