DBC 2017 - SSP Fund

DnA Travels, LLC is hosting our Fourth Annual DeafBlind Cruise in August 2017 and we are sailing to the Western Caribbean! This cruise event is happening because of an overwhelming number of requests by many Deaf Blind individuals wanting an opportunity to cruise together, a rare opportunity for this special and deserving community.

For this event to be as successful as the past three cruises, we need to provide Support Service Providers (SSPs) to assist Deaf Blind guests with navigation and communication. SSPs are fluent in sign language and provide Deaf Blind individuals with visual and environmental information, sighted guide services and sign language accessibility to on board events and off board excursions. SSPs will volunteer throughout the week so that Deaf Blind guests can have the same access to their cruise as any sighted and/or hearing individual. Although the cruise lines provide sign language interpreters, they do not provide the SSPs which have a very different role providing the guidance and support needed for a smooth-sailing cruise.

We are hoping to raise $5,600 to assist SSPs with their cruise costs and airfare. Any amount you donate would be greatly appreciated!
