Bikes for Vulnerable Kids

Dear Friends!

Cycle to Class is a new initiative set up by Seye Odukogbe to increase access to education (enrolment and regular school attendance) for children living in remote communities in Sub Sahara Africa through the provision of bicycles.

Many children in countries like Nigeria miss out on education because of the long distance commute; where some walk more than two hours to the nearest school , facing different risks, getting to school hungry and tired only to have to do the journey back again .

In addition to providing bicycles, Cycle to Class also seeks to conduct community awareness campaigns to promote education, and conduct sessions on financial literacy and alternatives for income generation for heads of households. Rural employment is also boosted through the training of youth to serve as local bicycle mechanics to ensure bicycle maintenance.

Each Bicycle costs £40 and the fundraising target of
£5000 will help Cycle to Class build on our current work in Oyo State (Nigeria) expanding into more rural towns across the South West including Ondo State.

We are hoping to reach this fundraising target by 01 May 2017.

We are also working with local partners who work with internally displaced children in Northern Nigeria, including Borno State. As you know this area has been severly affected by a range of issues for many years.

With funds raised we will also be able to expand to other rural communities across Africa. The money raised will make  a difference to the lives of children, tangibly improving their access to education.

We would really appreciate your support and nothing is too small! If you are able to, please feel free to donate and share using our gofundme page !!. Thank you in advance.
