Community Farm Project, Haiti
Tax deductible
The global outreach team at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church is nearing the end of our fundraising goal and we hope you can help push us to the finish line! We have been working with the wonderful folks at Food for the Poor towards our goal of fully financing and supporting the development of a community farm in Haiti. This project is near to our hearts and we are so grateful for the support of our family, friends, and community.
With the help of our church community and members of our global ministry group, we hope to make some small difference in one community with the foundation of a community farm. This project will provide the community first of all with sustenance, secondly with new occupations and a communal mission, and finally with new sources of income to help the community thrive.
The project will assist impoverished families in Haiti by providing supplies, equipment, and training. The funds for this project will be used to secure everything needed to make the farm a success, such as:
• 100 tillage sessions with tractors
• Purchase of 400 gallons of gas for the tractor, gas for the tillers, and 12 bottles of oil
• Purchase of six rototillers, five agricultural irrigation pumps and a maintenance kit
• Agricultural tools: Pruners, transplanters, wheelbarrows, sprayers
• Purchase of cops: Sucker bananas, mango, papaya, and avocado trees, corn, bean, tomato, hot/sweet pepper, and eggplant seeds plus 700 pounds of sorghum seeds
• Purchase of fertilizer
• Training sessions for rototiller usage and agricultural techniques
Our goal is to complete our fundraising by mid-November and we will need your help to meet this goal.
We appreciate your support more than we can express! Thank you!
