If you are a cheerleader or the parent of a cheerleader in the state of Arizona, chances are you have met Mandy Ellis. As the Arizona clothing rep for Varsity Spirit Fashion, Mandy has personally measured, ordered, unpacked, bagged and delivered each and every one of you or your child's team attire.
Mandy is a mom to 6 year old Coleman who more times than not comes along for the ride to Mandy's fittings and merchandise deliveries.
Coleman became sick at the beginning of the summer and was diagnosed with Valley Fever. When the treatment was up for Valley Fever, Mandy took him in for additional tests which sadly reported a Stage 4 Wilms tumor on one of his kidneys as well as cancerous nodules in his lungs.
After the successful removal of the kidney and tumor on October 4, it was discovered that Coleman still has Valley Fever which complicates chemotherapy treatments for the lungs. Doctors are now trying to determine how to proceed with treating both diseases.
The cheerleading community has sent hundreds of prayers and well wishes to Mandy and Coleman but here is your chance to do even more.
