Help for Cairn Terrier Anne-Marie

Anne-Marie is a mystery. She arrived to her foster home from a local shelter where she was relinquished by her owner after 2 1/2 years. Circumstances had changed. She remained in the shelter for 4 months and they contacted Col. Potter. Of course, she was welcomed with open arms and pulled from the shelter by a wonderful CP volunteer and transported to her foster home. Foster Mom noticed a small sore by her collar and assumed it had rubbed. Here is the mystery. By the time she got to the vet it had turned into a large wound, about 3 1/2 inches x 4 inches, and had large deep scabs with dead skin. It had to be debrided under anesthesia and stitched because it was so deep. She is receiving daily laser treatments to speed healing and help with pain.

This is the sweetest little 8 year old girl with a loving personality. She loves people, children and toys. Even through this entire process she has remained happy and playful.

The mystery still remains, what happened to her? The best guess now is a brown recluse spider bite. We probably will never know, but this is a special little lady who deserves to get this expensive treatment to heal this wound​. ​​
