Christmas Dinner

Donation protected
Good Evening everyone. Its Sherry from Produce Outreach, and the Tombstone Food bank.
5 years ago, I took a position as the director of the food bank in Tombstone, Arizona. I grew up knowing Tombstone as a novelty. You know, Doc Holiday, Wyatt Earp. Bang Bang shoot em up! To my dismay, its not novelty.
Unfortunately this is a very old and very poor town. Our working poor, struggling to survive and feed their families. Trying to make ends meet, where sometimes, they have no hope. Our Seniors, who are on fixed incomes, most paying rent, paying for medicine, and 3 weeks into the month, no money for food. Our Veterans, who signed an agreement with the United States to protect us by any means, even with their life. We already know the problems they face financially and medically.
It was truly heart wrenching to learn this is who lives inside,"THE TOWN TOO TOUGH TO DIE".
Monthly we support them with as much food as we can. We serve over 1600 clients monthly, within the food bank, and upwards to 17,000 people with our produce outreach program.
As Christmas is quickly approaching this year. I struggle with how to make sure everyone in our beautiful cities enjoys Christmas dinner with their families and loved ones. We are trying to provide food boxes, not just for Tombstone, but our surrounding cities, that have no other lifeline to get assistance. We are looking at feeding over 7000 people inside Cochise County. Regardless of their nationality, race, gender, or disabilities. They deserve to enjoy this special meal.

That my friend, is where you come in. I cannot do it alone. I know that I don't have all the answers. The girl behind the mask, that tries to brighten everyone's day, trying to provide nourishing produce and food to everyone, needs your help.

Let me explain my heart to you, and why it is so important for me to do this.
See, I grew up in a very poor family. It was a result of too many children, Mom being a home maker, and Daddy was our only provider. We didn't have much. We didn't have food banks or pantries. No one assembled to distribute produce to anyone. Stuff like this was hush hush. You knew about it, but you didn't speak on it. I'm not ashamed. Monetarily, we suffered, But we had love, values, traditions, and each other. So I get it. Ive been there. As long as I am allowed to breathe this air, I will do everything in my power to make sure no child within my reach, goes hungry! That no child will know what its like to sit at a table, and not have a special dinner. We are human first and foremost.

I beg of you, to help us. Even 1$ is something. I would also like to say if you want to help participate with distribution, please do not hesitate to call me. Will you please  help me make this happen for our families in our County! Please?

All money will be collected no later than December 15th, and Distribution of boxes will be the week of the 22nd and 23rd. Thank you. Will you help me share this? Help me, help others!
