Greetings everyone!
I have graduated from Whitworth University with my Master's in Clinical Mental Health. I am currently back in school at Eastern Washington University to complete another graduate program in Chemical Dependency.
I aspire to work with low-income clients ages 6-17 who are in need of intervention services by providing individual therapy and psychoeducation groups. I strive to make a difference in my field by being a strong advocate for populations that do not have a voice. It has been my life's work to help and guide people. Additionally, I would like to obtain my Ph.D and be able to advocate through my research. I would like educate my community about prevention practices and better ways we can advocate for our children. I can honestly say that the helping field has been my calling and I will continue down this path for the rest of my life.
Just recently I have been given an opportunity to work in a private practice that is subcontracted through the Department of Health. This gives me the opportunity to have my own schedule and office.I will be providing therapy to children at all age ranges. In addition to this, I will be working closely with community members and social workers to gain referrals to my business. This opportunity is what I have been searching for and what I will need to gain plentiful experience in my field as a therapist.
What it will pay for:
As part of the contract, I will need to obtain a business licence, malpractice insurance, background check, my own furnishings for the office, and therapy supplies. I have to pay for these out of pocket. This is the reason for me creating this page.
Here's the reason:
I could really use some outside support to help me get this business off the ground. It will probably take me till mid-January before my first paycheck. and this will make things very rough for my family.I need the additional support to pay for those fees, furnishings, suppiles and also any other expenses that might arise.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this, and even if you can't help a nice message of support will help also.
