Shelter Animals need new home!

Donation protected
For over 8 years, the Sydney Shelter has provided homes for small animals that have no where else to go. These small animals ( Guinea pigs and rabbits) were dumped, left in pounds, found by people or directly surrendered as unwanted or through other changes of circumstance. The shelter has been a place of safe haven and care where they have needed medical treatment, food, housing, grooming, love and attention. Without this shelter so many small animals would not have had a second chance.  They are freqently thought of as a child's first pet and often treated as something that can be discarded - although they can live upwards of 8 years, not unlike cats and dogs.

During this time over 1500 small animals have found there forever homes and a second chance at life.

This shelter has been run completely voluntarily by Lyn and all costs and associated food and medical bills covered by her.

Over this time, the cages and housing have become inadequate and aged. It is now time to re-juvenate the shelter with caging that will be easier to clean and maintain but more importantly, benefit the animals.

GoFundMe provides a place where the shelter can reach out for much needed help financially in order to improve the existing old caging conditions. With the funding that is raised, the existing cages would be replaced by specifically purpose built cages that would fit the area of the shelter. These cages accomodate the animals in a much better way and assist greatly the functionality of the cages and improve the comfort of the animals. They would be in a solid structure rather than the individual cages that are all of different sizes and types presently, improving cleaning accessibility and presentation.

In addition to the caging, the storage boxes and large food bins that are presently in use, need to be incorporated into the new design and replaced. The additional shelter materials need to be housed in a better way with a new cupboard system. Additional lighting needs to be made within the shelter with additional power outlets to be fitted enabling heat pad connections within the new cage facilities. The left side wall of the shelter needs to have significant brink alterations done in order to accomodate the new housing and make the most of the space within the shelter. The funding would cover the costs of the build and installation of these items. Some of the materials are already here, but the greater amount needs to be obtained in order to move forward.

For this important rescue work to continue, Lyn and the animals need your help and generosity in the construction and re-modelling costs that are required to make this happen. Please help the shelter animals find a new home! Every dollar goes directly to the reconstruction and design of new caging.
