Cattail Gathering 2018

This June 9th and 10th will be our third annual Cattail Nature Skills Gathering . This Gofundme campaign is a way for people who plan to attend to prepay the $20 registration fee and the $18 camping fee as well as donate a little extra (whether you can attend or not) to keep the Gathering going.
Nature skills gatherings are part of a movement of reconnection with Nature, self reliance and community. Oddly for most people the more they learn about self reliance the more they come to value community and connection to other living things. At this gathering there will be the opportunity for workshops in primitive and survival skills, homesteading, community building, wildlife tracking, wild edible plants, herbalism, woodcraft and anything else the instructors cook up (maybe outdoor cooking).
All the up front costs for the Cattail Gathering come out of my pocket. Last year I recovered all my costs plus a couple hundred dollars for my time (it's a lot of time). The venue costs a few hundred dollars, insurance a little less. Website, signs, materials, etc all add up. I hesitate to give exact costs for some of these things because the providers may not want their fees made public. I am sure you can understand that such an enterprise takes some investment.
Every $20 donated will get an individual entrance to the event for the weekend. $40 gets two people entrance and so on. Another $18 for a campsite rental.
Any donations beyond the goal will go toward next years Gathering. The more money in the bank we have helps to guarantee future Gatherings.
