We need your help! The Doctors have asked to increase Cason's treatments over the course of the next 6 months. Although he is doing well, they feel it is critical to increase dosage and treatments which will in turn increase the financial need substantially. There is so much going in Cason's favor, but the Doctors have been clear that it is imperative that they give it all they've got. His Faith is strong and his determination never waivers. THE STORY:
As many of you know, Cason Salvati was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor in December. Within just a few weeks, he underwent Brain Surgery to remove the tumor. A week later his tumor was determined to contain a very rare and aggressive form of cancer called anaplastic astrocytoma - grade 3. Just 12 days after his 20th birthday, Cason underwent a second and even more evasive surgery in hopes to cut out any and all cancer cells. There are two key characteristics of this type of cancer; 1) the tumors almost always grow back and 2) when they do, they go from a grade 3 to a grade 4. In this, we have determined to walk by Faith and not by Sight. Although, the doctors and MRI’s have shown that the tumor was successfully removed, aggressive radiation and Chemo are still necessary. Along with chemotherapy and radiation, Cason must adhere to a strict diet (no sugars) and will be pursuing intense Naturopathic treatments as well, administered by a Naturopathic Oncologist.
Here is a snapshot of Cason’s next several months:
Daily radiation for next 6 weeks
Daily Chemo for next 6 weeks
Weekly IV’s 2 X’s a week for the next 8 weeks ($800.00 + per session) - These are actual cancer fighting treatments.
Multiple supplements and an shots to help him through Chemo and Radiation. This will remain in place for a year as he continues Chemo.
Daily Chemo every weekday for 6 weeks
Monthly Chemo 5 days every month for the next full year
Bimonthly MRI’s first year followed by quarterly MRI’s for life
We are estimating that Cason will have to come up with over $17,000.00 to cover the cost of treatment, which includes insurance deductible, Naturopathic Oncologist treatments as well as various wellness plans.
We walk by Faith but Cason needs our help. If you know the Salvati’s, you know that they would never ask for anything, and that’s why I am. As their friend for 30+ years, I was made aware of the financial impact as well as the aggressive path necessary to fight this. I stand with Cason in prayer and faith and I am asking each and every family member to consider what you can do to join the fight. I am also asking for each and every friend to stand and join the fight. I am starting a Go Fund Me to offset these costs. If we all give a little, as money comes available, we can meet the goal of $17,000.00 so Cason and the Salvati’s can continue the fight without being burdened financially. Cason remains strong in his Faith, determined and courageous, and knows that God has this!! But in the meantime, this is all part of the journey that he must face.
